This video depicts Andrea Anderson and I using our feet to light cigarettes for each other, requiring us to lay head-to-foot. We are illuminated by projected video footage of ourselves in order to multiply the total number of people, increasing our sense of vanity. We are veiled in bedsheets to allude to draped figures of Baroque era ceiling frescoes- a technique used, not to conceal the figure, but reveal. The figures tease with each other to both portray willing exhibitionists and also to implicate the viewer as voyeur. This piece has been exhibited as a ceiling projection in multiple iterations- on the ceiling of the Helen Mauck Galbreath Memorial Chapel in Athens, Ohio, and with the Ohio University Aesthetic Technologies Lab in conjunction with the International Symposium on Electronic Art (ISEA), San Francisco.
